Revolution 1 (Take 20) is just fantastic. For me it takes the great ideas from Revolution 9 and incorporates them into a truly groundbreaking song. I think maybe if Paul and George weren’t so nervous about putting out a politically charged song it could have been one of the Beatles’ finest.

"Revolution" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, written by John Lennon and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership. Three versions of the song were recorded and released in , all during sessions for the Beatles' self-titled double album, also known as "the White Album": a slow, bluesy arrangement (titled "Revolution 1") that would make the final cut for the LP; an A-side: "Hey Jude".

Feb 23,  · For the 50th anniversary of The Beatles, a 6-CD box-set was released containing 50 studio outtakes from the album's sessions. However, "Revolution 1 (Take 20)" was not released. Instead, an early version (label "take 19") which did not contain Lennon and McCartney's "Mumma, Dadda" chants or the some of the effects and tape loops on "Take 20".

This set presents The Beatles Lady Madonna recording sessions in greater detail. Collected together and re-created especially for this deluxe edition from various outtakes and isolations to show a near complete audio picture of these early recordings, Not all versions were chosen and in some cases like John's home demos only the more listenable versions are included here.

The track makes it clear why seemingly unrelated “Revolution 1” and the maniacal “Revolution 9” sound collage share the same name: In “Revolution 1 (Take 20)” John Lennon steers an.
